Mrs. Lula Mae Wells – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile County, AL died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Wells was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was the owner and operator of the Bayou La Batre Fruit Stand. She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Wells. She is survived by nine children, John David (Charlotte) Wells, Linda (Billy) Wilkerson, Diane (Terry) Hamilton, Sandra (Thomas) Cox, Gail (Robert) Vaughan, Timothy (Anetra) Wells, Steven (Christine) Wells, Matt Wells, and Jerry (Rose) Wells; three sisters, Ruth Driskell, Mary Tanner, and Rose Lankheit; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
